Hello!!!!
I am sure you are reading these words with frustration at your office desk, counting the moments until you can leave work for the Christmas holiday. I feel your pain! I myself am on my second cup of joe, trying oh so hard to stay focused to pass the time until 5:00 oh ya.
Yesterday was Dordan’s holiday party, which was a real ball! Here is a picture of me and newest Dordan employee—my sister—showing off my awesome white elephant Christmas gift, a new grill!
This Christmas also coincides with Dordan’s 50TH ANNIVERSARY. We have modified our logo from “custom thermoformed packaging solutions” to “offering 50 years of custom thermoformed packaging solutions.” Neato. AND, we got new sweatshirts to commemorate this event! For those outside the Dordan community you may question the significance of company sweatshirts, so let me explain…
As long as I can remember we would get silly Dordan T-shirts/sweatshirts, with Dordan CEO Daniel’s face photo-shopped onto the likes of Fabio, Sargent Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band, Superman, etc. Also included would be the faces of Dordan employees and friends/family of the company, making for, basically, the coolest movie posters/album artwork ever. With the economy crashing in 2008 we suspended these efforts, as it seemed, well, wasteful. This year, because of the significance of Dordan’s 50th anniversary and thankfully a successful year, we have made NEW sweatshirts, which are actually throwbacks to some of the first designs those long 50 years ago…Pictures to come!
Also for the Holiday season, my brother and Dordan Account Executive Sean Slavin and his lovely wife Karen performed an awesome cover of Run Run Rudolph in a YouTube video; it’s pretty great. Click the screen shot below to hear to song!
AND, Merry Christmas to me! Dordan has been selected as THE thermoformer for Plastics Technology’s 2013 three-part series on Sustainability! Also profiled will be an injection molder and blow molder; the series focuses on “sustainability in packaging” and is intended to highlight each firms’ commitment thereto and actionable items resulting therefrom. Yipee! And just when I thought my magazine cover modeling days were over….
Dordan sets sail for Vegas right after the New Year, exhibiting for the first time at The International 2013 CES! My guest post to CEA’s Digital Dialogue blog titled "Sustainable Packaging, Doing More with Less" went live last week, and it has been Tweeted, FaceBook posted, LinkedIn messaged and the like. Love me my social media.
