I'm off to attend and present at the SPE Thermoforming Division's 21st Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids, Michigan!
My presentation titled, "Welcome to the 'New Packaging World Order:' Where Social Media and Sustainability Collide" is a summary of the history of plastics as foundation for today's sociological construction of them as 'cheap, nasty and toxic,' describing how social media is being utilized to reinforce this incorrect assumption and laying out an action plan for how these assumptions must be challenged by industry-collaboration to re-position plastics, and plastics packaging, on its rightful pedestal of human mastery and engineering marvels.
