Local newspaper, The Woodstock Independent, reports on Dordan's efforts to manufacture plastic face shields for healthcare workers fighting against the spread of COVID-19.

Titled, "Making a Difference," the article describes how Dordan pivoted operations to rapidly produce plastic face shields within a week. The custom thermoformer can produce upwards of 30,000 face shields a day, and shipped over 500,000 face shields to healthcare facilities Nationwide in April. Click here for the article.

Dordan is now developing face shields for non hospital workers in public-facing businesses and operations. These face shields are disposable and of simpler construction, serving the same function of reducing contact with aerosol propellants of bodily fluids.

Many workers who are working or returning to work complain that textile face masks limit comfort and are a distraction to performance. Plastic face shields, unlike face masks, do not compromise ease of breath, nor do they fog up glasses when worn together. The simpler construction also offers a lower price point than the shields produced for hospitals, democratizing the distribution of personal protection equipment.
