PACK EXPO Exhibit Preview: Dordan's 3D Package Design Renderings

Hello my packaging and sustainability friends!

Can you believe Pack Expo is next month?! This is Dordan's second time exhibiting in Las Vegas and we are excited to bring our newest exhibit--first unveiled at Pack Expo 2012 in Chicago-- to the West Coast packaging community. But first, an introduction to the motivation behind this display...

My father always introduces Dordan as "An engineering/manufacturing based thermoformer," which until I worked there, didn't really translate. In family companies, everyone "sells"; consequently, I have found myself in many a situation where potential clients approach Dordan with the task of thermoforming their super snazzy packaging concept, which turns out to be, non-manufacturable! Whoops!

Dordan engineers therefore have to re-engineer the product and package from scratch (usually the renderings are non-transferrable with our advanced modeling software), in order to develop a solution that performs on and off the line. The moral of the story? Smart package designs require experience with--and insight into-- the capabilities and limitations inherent in the intended conversion processes.

Sooo how do you demonstrate this engineering-based package design advantage of Dordan to Pack Expo booth passer-buyers??? You create cool videos, but of course!

Below is a sneak peek of one portion of Dordan's Pack Expo Display, photo-realistic engineering drawings.
