Anaheim, CA—February 11-13, 2020—Dordan Manufacturing, a custom thermoform packaging designer and manufacturer, brings its expertise on sustainable packaging to MD&M West attendees, booth# 348.

Dordan is now accepting reservations for free sustainable packaging consulting, click here to register. MD&M West is the world's largest medical design & manufacturing event, bringing suppliers and solutions to medtech companies at every stage of the product development process.

Dordan’s Sustainability Coordinator, Chandler Slavin, is an expert on the end of life management of packaging. Awarded the cover features of Plastics in Packaging magazine and Green Manufacturer magazine for her efforts to recycle PET thermoformed packaging (photos below), Slavin facilitated its incorporation into the recycling infrastructure in North America. Serving as the co-lead of the PET subcommitte for Walmart Canada’s material optimization committee, Slavin worked with shareholders to address and overcome the barriers to clamshell recycling. Publishing three reports on the culmination of these efforts, Slavin has presented nation-wide on the economics of recycling, and is a contributing author to Packaging Digest on sustainable packaging.

Dordan completed construction of its ISO Class 8 cleanroom in October, 2019 for the production of thermoformed medical packaging solutions, like medical packaging trays, surgical/procedural kits, and sub assembly WIP/shipping trays. Dordan looks forward to bringing its expertise on sustainable packaging to the medical device market, and is now accepting reservations for free consultation for MD&M attendees (click here to register). By understanding the complexities of waste management, medical device manufacturers and their supply chain partners can develop more sustainable packaging scenarios in order to reduce waste and mitigate carbon emissions throughout the life cycle of packaging.
