Dordan's award winning in-house Design & Engineering Department utilizes the most current and advanced 3D and Solid Modeling Software(s) available; we can create designs from scratch, take existing designs and add optimizing features, or, replicate existing designs.
Dordan offers its clients a variety of digital renderings of packaging concepts before moving to prototype, including: Animations, VRML, PDF, Microsoft Office Document Files, Wire Frames, Engineer Drawings, Die Lines for Insert Cards; Dordan can import/export the following types of engineering file formats: IGES, X_T, STEP, DXF.
Typically, the timeline for package design concept to production is as follows: 24-48 hours for quote; 5 business days for a digital rendering or technical drawing; 10 business days for a prototype; and first production parts 20 business days after approval of the prototype. However, by offering all design, engineering and machining services under one roof at our Illinois headquarters, it allows us greater scheduling flexibility and shorter lead-times, increased quality control and competitive pricing.
